The Bullitt County Soil Conservation District Board meets monthly on the 4th Monday of the month at 7 p.m. Currently, the Board meetings are being held at the Bullitt County Extension Service located at 384 Halls Lane in Shepherdsville. The facility has limited capacity seating to allow for social distancing. Please call the office ahead of the meeting date to ensure that the limit has not been reached, before making plans to attend.
The Bullitt County Soil Conservation District was organized at the request of county citizens interested in soil and water conservation, land use planning and flood prevention. The county was declared a district by the Kentucky Secretary of State on May 21, 1946 in accordance with the provision of the "Soil Conservation Districts Law", Chapter 8 1940 Session Acts, page 37.
All 120 counties in Kentucky have a Conservation District. By having an office in each county, the District Supervisors are better able to offer resources and programs that fit the needs of its residents.
